Job Summary
The Chief Engineer leads all facility operations and maintenance (O&M) activities at the contract site and serves as the primary technical leader and client partner. This role oversees building systems, supervises union staff and subcontractors, ensures contract compliance, and drives safe, efficient facility operations.

Schedule: Monday - Friday (7:00am -4:30pm)


Key Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise the O&M team and subcontractors
• Oversee preventive/predictive maintenance and repairs for MEP systems
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, codes, and safety regulations
• Manage maintenance schedules, service requests, and emergency response
• Conduct building and system inspections and recommend corrective actions
• Maintain drawings, manuals, parts lists, and CMMS records
• Manage inventory, procurement, and subcontracted services
• Serve as primary interface with client representatives
• Provide leadership, training, and safety oversight
• Respond to after-hours emergencies as required



Requirements
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in facility O&M
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
• Refrigeration and/or Air Conditioning Operator License (required)
• Universal Refrigerant Certification (EPA 608) (required)
• Proven leadership, troubleshooting, and communication skills
• Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and quality



Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, climb ladders, and work in mechanical spaces
• Exposure to noise, chemicals, and hot/cold environments
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform inspections for extended periods
