Rail Laborer – Rail Division (Travel Required)

Job Summary

The Rail Laborer supports rail repair and maintenance operations using hand tools and equipment. This role involves fieldwork on active rail lines, assisting crews with material movement, equipment operation, and track work in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.



Key Responsibilities

Use hand tools (spike mauls, sledgehammers, rail saws, drills, pry bars, etc.)
Assist with rail repair, maintenance, and material handling
Perform pre-operational checks and basic equipment maintenance
Follow all safety procedures and job site requirements
Work closely with crew members to complete tasks efficiently
Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and work performed
Perform additional duties as assigned


Requirements

Experience using hand tools and working in outdoor labor roles
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to travel occasionally to frequently to distant job sites
Availability for overtime and on-call work as needed


Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation)

Ability to walk long distances along rail tracks
Frequent standing, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs
Ability to climb in and out of rail and heavy equipment
Ability to perform strenuous physical labor in outdoor environments
