Responsibilities
The Business Analyst – Project Planning will work closely with the preconstruction, scheduling, lean, virtual design and construction, and innovation teams that make up our corporate Planning and Technology group to develop, manage, and improve data analysis programs and projects. The Business Analyst – Project Planning will also be tasked with the development of processes and procedures for data management, establishing best practices and lessons learned across the company's footprint, and providing training company-wide. Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Assist in the prioritization of projects within the Planning Group, including collaboration with IT Department Manage historical data and benchmarking for as-built schedules in collaboration with scheduling department leadership Manage schedule risk simulation databases to establish a gauge of completion likelihood in collaboration with scheduling department leadership Manage and revise planning and scheduling dashboards in collaboration with scheduling department leadership Develop and manage, in collaboration with department leadership, Preconstruction departmental KPIs and estimate-level KPIs Develop and manage, in collaboration with Preconstruction department leadership, historical cost benchmarking and comp sheets Develop and manage, in collaboration with Lean department leadership, weekly work plan variances reporting and retrospective reporting Perform other duties as assigned Travel will be necessary at a frequency depending on project needs and locations
Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, an Engineering discipline with applicable course loads in statistics and computer modeling, or equivalent work experience
Experience in the construction industry is preferred
Coding and programming knowledge required, SQL knowledge preferred Proficiency, passion, and analytical creativity for researching, developing, and innovating custom products that influence operational excellence and process improvement Proficiency with Procore, Primavera scheduling software, Microsoft Office products, Power BI, Smartsheets, and working knowledge of other construction software is preferred Must be a self-starter able to work independently with a proven ability to function in a self-directed environment Excellent mathematical, analytical, quantitative, statistical, and organization skills Ability to draft, develop, and manage policy and procedure documents Ability to research, collect data, and clearly present results to a large audience Able to effectively manage multiple projects, identify priorities, and multitask Ability to work in teams and manage differing personalities Strong written, oral, and customer service communication skills Willingness to travel The above description covers the principal duties and responsibilities of the job.
