The Quality Control Manager is responsible for managing and performing the daily QC responsibilities of specific BLHI projects to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the established minimum standards. The role includes direct oversight and review of the entire documentation and physical inspection phase of the work flow process and working with other in-house personnel (Project Managers, Superintendents, etc.) and external personnel to produce and document a quality product.
Key Responsibilities:
- - Ongoing development and upkeep of BLHI QA/QC processes and procedures
- Creation of project-specific QA/QC procedure plans
- Maintenance of QA/QC records for BLHI personnel (e.g., welder certifications, craft certifications, specialized training)
- Preparation and upkeep of client QA/QC reporting
Minimum Certifications: Current CWI (Level II VT, PT, and MT required)
Travel Requirements: Extensive travel will be required. Responsibilities include routine project site visits for compliance inspections, report development, record maintenance, and coordination with client counterparts. Some assignments may require 2–3 week stints at project sites. Regular inspections at fabricator/supplier facilities and BLHI's Houston shop are also expected, along with other travel as needed by project demands.
