Summary:
Operates a Coordinate Measuring Machine to inspect and measure physical objects, ensuring they meet specified standards, checking for accuracy during and after production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Evaluate and measure fixtures to verify suitably for production use.
- Measure parts to investigate dimensional issues, as needed.
- Communicate the nature of dimensional issues to relevant personnel; create reports as needed.
- Perform monthly internal calibration of the CMM equipment.
- Maintain the inspection work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Experience with CAD, CAM, or CMM software.
- Understanding of geometric principles, metrology, and engineering drawings.
- Basic written and verbal communication skills; ability to use word processing software.
- Inspection or laboratory experience preferred.
- Must be able to perform calculations and conversions with fractional imperial unites, as well as metric units.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
