Internship Role and Duties:
- Undertaking various Engineering tasks as assigned by senior staff members to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
- Shadowing department heads to gain valuable insights into the development and hardening processes within the organization.
- Handling engineering data management, including creating and filing prints, accessing computer data files, and printing CAD drawings.
- Assisting in the creation and modification of engineering drawings and models, encompassing manual drawings, CAD drawings, solid models, sketches, layouts, and assemblies.
- Conducting data collection activities related to model numbers and parts from suppliers and manufacturers, focusing on areas such as door hardware and fasteners.
- Constructing Inventor 3D models for standard parts, such as door hardware and fasteners, to support design and manufacturing processes.
- Participating in the design process and expediting small parts projects under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Collaborating and communicating effectively with experienced technical personnel to contribute to project success.
- Learning and utilizing technical terminology relevant to the field of engineering.
- Researching technical information in publications, specification sheets, and documents to support project requirements.
- Utilizing standard PC business software for communication purposes, including email and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Observing office functions and meetings to gain insight into organizational dynamics and professional practices.
- Demonstrating a positive, professional, and cooperative work attitude in all interactions and tasks undertaken during the internship.
- Applying problem-solving skills to overcome challenges and complete assigned tasks efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
- Currently enrolled in a relevant Engineering program or a recent graduate.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic professional setting.

Physical Environment:

Functions in a temperature-controlled office environment a majority of the time. Work requires the ability to sit throughout an extended workday (8-10 hours) with occasional walking into other areas of the manufacturing facility; position requires use of fingers, hands and arms on a consistent basis for keyboarding and phone work; position requires the ability to talk and hear; position may need to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion; excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required. The standard office environment has moderate noise levels associated with computer equipment, customers, and phone conversations. On occasion the noise level may be loud due to various equipment in use in the manufacturing facility.
