Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyze RFQ documents (e.g., architectural drawings, specifications, etc.)
- Analyze vendor and subcontractor proposals
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, and other staff to understand the products being developed
- Perform take-offs on overall products, as well as sub-structure and product components
- Prepare cost estimates based on RFQ documents, vendor proposals, and take-offs
- Prepare quotes and release packages to production for well-developed product lines and replacement parts (glazing, components, etc.)
- Assemble submittal packages based on detailed information from project engineering
- Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

- U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant Construction, Engineering, or Business discipline, or in lieu of degree, 3+ years of experience performing detailed quantity estimates, analyzing vendor and subcontractor proposals, and preparing bid comparison tabulations
- Develop proficiency in commercial estimating software packages (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Timberline Estimating, or equivalent) and understanding of cost & accounting principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
- CAD experience
- Experience performing estimates of architectural security products for the U.S. government and converting estimates into detailed project budgets preferred
- Collaboration with individuals internal to an organization (engineering, supply chain) to deliver accurate and timely cost estimates in the past preferred
- Ability to travel occasionally both domestically and internationally

Physical Environment:

Functions in a temperature-controlled office environment a majority of the time. Work requires the ability to sit throughout an extended workday (8-10 hours) with occasional walking into other areas of the manufacturing facility; position requires use of fingers, hands, and arms on a consistent basis for keyboarding and phone work; position requires the ability to talk and hear; position may need to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion; excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required. The standard office environment has moderate noise levels associated with computer equipment, customers, and phone conversations. On occasion the noise level may be loud due to various equipment in use in the manufacturing facility.
