The primary function of this position is to spend time in the field focusing on customer needs, increasing sales territory penetration, networking & lead generation, time & territory management, and evaluating rental/sales and construction market trends. Additional responsibilities and objectives will include rental & sales revenue quotes, supervision & training of Specialty Product Sales/Outside Sales Representatives, establishing and maintaining call reports & itineraries, maintaining budget goals, and making sure territory call and sales objectives of Specialty Product Sales/Outside Sales Representatives are being met. Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned): Manage and develop assigned territories to maximize sales potential and B&G reputation Recruits, tests, and hires Product Support/Outside Sales Representatives based on criteria agreed upon by senior management Responsible for evaluation and overall management of sales force Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines Assists Specialty Product Sales/Outside Sales Representatives in preparation of proposals and presentations. Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team Conducts one-on-one review with all Specialty Product Sales/Outside Sales Representatives to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of Specialty Product Sales/Outside Sale Representative’s sales and activity performance Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed Strong relationship building and excellent customer service skills Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability Prepares action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects Coordinate and participate in strategic entertainment of customers Responsible for developing key relationships with other divisions and departments Responsible for collecting payment from customers and maintaining accurate customer records Must be capable of prioritization of multiple tasks in a deadline sensitive environment Must possess ability to work autonomously Conducts regular coaching and counseling with Specialty Product Sales/Outside Sales Representatives to build motivation and selling skills Maintains contact with clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees Sets examples for Specialty Product Sales /Outside Sales Representatives in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits Delegates authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up Responsible for managing an expanding client base and generating revenue from accounts Maintain open communications with Director of Operations, Operations Manager, Logistics Coordinator, Branch Manager, and Inside Sales Representatives regarding new equipment/supplies, equipment availability, and rental/sales programs Responsible for prompt completion of all administrative duties, which include; but are not limited to: Monthly Sales Meeting, Monthly Operations Meeting, Manage Sales Plans, Riding with Outside Sales Representatives, Expense Reports, Sales Reports, and Daily Call Reports Identify and generate new base business Possess strong leadership, communication (both verbal and written) and exchange information with others clearly and concisely Enhances customer satisfaction by developing rapport with key decision makers and end users at job sites Develops and executes strategies to achieve revenue goals that reflect an understanding of market conditions and trends Employs territory analysis and targeted sales and marketing research to identify and delegate top prospects Addresses customer service issues in the field by managing customer expectations and coordinating with appropriate department within B&G
Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience
High School diploma or GED coupled with a minimum of 5 years of Rental Industry experience and at least 3 years of Sales experience; or a Bachelor’s in Business Management or Marketing with at least 3 years of Sales experience, preferably in a similar industry. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, and legal documents Ability to effectively present information to management Must possess strong work ethic necessary for success in a fast-paced dynamic work environment Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to successfully engage all levels of customer base Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, employees, or members of the business community Required to stay up-to-date on industry equipment changes, through continued education
Requires a valid drivers license and a clean MVR
