H2 Performance Consulting (H2) is seeking a Senior Oracle DBA to create, update, configure, manage, and administer databases for Oracle 12c - 19c environments. The ideal candidate must be able to create, edit and execute scripts to process data and perform software updates. You will be required to create instances with the ability to modify control files, redo logs, archive log and other parameters as required. This role will be relied on to provide IT project management guidance/input and expertise for projects and special projects as needed. The candidate must be able to integrate DBMS(s) data with existing application software, websites, portals, storage devices, or business applications as well as assisting and testing Disaster Recovery (DR) and Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP). The position will have a strong focus on performance tuning. Must have an extensive knowledge in database performance tuning in both data center and cloud environments.

The Senior Oracle Database Administrator responsibilities will include:

- Install, configure, and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities.
- Configure and document security measures as required by DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
- Create, update, configure, manage, and administer databases for Oracle 12c - 19c environments.
- Create, edit, and execute scripts to process data and perform software updates.
- Create instances with the ability to modify control files, redo logs, archive log and other parameters as required.
- Provide IT project management guidance/input and expertise for projects and special projects as needed.
- Integrate DBMS(s) data with existing application software, websites, portals, storage devices, or business applications.
- Assist and test Disaster Recovery (DR) and Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP).
- Conduct performance tuning activities using various Oracle tools and database metrics.
- Review PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions for performance issues.
- Implement oracle security features such as fips140 communication and DoD CAC/PKI authentication for Oracle products.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

- Clearance: Minimum SECRET clearance. Will require a T5 (if they do not have a TS) from the Government after they start.
- Required Certifications:
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II – CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent at date of hire.
- Operating System (OS) training within 30 days after start date.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of advanced database performance tuning.
- Experience in analyzing and determining cause/solutions of wait events.
- Experience with Oracle performance monitoring tools such as AWR to include capturing and analyzing reports.
- Ability to write simple to complex PL/SQL queries along with ability to understand execution plan of existing ones and adjust them as needed.
- Previous experience with installation, configuration, and tuning of Middleware; Deploying EAR & WAR files.
- Experience with Solaris, Linux, and Windows Administration ideal.
- Comfortable with High Availability and Disaster Recovery technologies.
- Experience using RMAN to perform various database backups and recover databases from backups including partials, point in time, and full recovery.
- Experience cloning databases using RMAN and Data Pump
- Ability to handle implementing, configuring, and monitoring Oracle Data Guard, including standby reporting databases with little to no assistance.
- Experience encrypting SQL traffic between clients and database, including thick clients and data sources.
- Knowledge of implementing database authentication using common access cards and Oracle wallets required.
- Experience implementing Oracle auditing processes including Oracle Unified Auditing.
- 5-7 years’ experience with monitoring, analyzing server logs, and configuring additional logging.
- Experience engaging with Oracle Corporation for technical support.
- Experience with Oracle Advanced Security, Oracle Fusion Architecture, RAC, and ASM.
- Familiarity with Oracle Database development is a plus.
- Senior level proficiency in key systems (minimal training required)
- Must have an extensive knowledge in database performance tuning in both data center and cloud environments (AWS Preferred).
- Experience administering SQL Server/ DB is a plus.
