H2 Performance Consulting (H2) is seeking an F5 Engineer with experience administrating application delivery networking solutions including local load balancing and acceleration, global (DNS based) load balancing and acceleration, security through web application firewall and application authentication and access products for both datacenter and cloud applications. The ideal candidate would be versed in administration of the F5 BIG-IP LTM, BIP-IP DNS, APM, ASM, Reverse Web Proxy (RWP) to include Department of Defense (DoD) Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) application authentication and SSL break and inspect, networking, virtualization, and security best practices. The candidate will be expected to have a general understanding of data center design concepts and subsystems (i.e. storage, network, security, orchestration/automation, backup, disaster recovery) as they relate to application delivery networking solutions deployed across geographically dispersed private data centers and commercial public cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure). The candidate will join a team of engineers and administrators and work in a collaborative multi-functional team environment. Relevant network and security certifications are required.
The F5 Engineer responsibilities will include:
- Perform routine administrative and maintenance functions (install, configure, patch, update, etc.) F5 platforms.
- Support and creation of iRules on F5 Load balancers.
- Creation of Virtual Servers, Pools, iRules, Nodes, etc.
- Creation of Monitors, Address Translations, and Traffic Class.
- Creation of Device Groups and Device Trust with Trust, CA Certificates, Identity Certificates, and Traffic Groups.
- Configure Network parameters including, interfaces, Routes, Self IP’s, Packet Filters, Trunks, Tunnels, VLANs, etc.
- Configure system parameters including, Configuration, Device Certificates, File/Disk/Software Management, License Updates, Users, etc.
- Management and creation of SSL certificates, both self-signed and third party signed, within the application environment.
- Perform security hardening and work with IA/C&A teams to conduct security scans/audits.
- Troubleshoot F5 platforms in preproduction and production environments.
- Monitor performance of remote and local systems to identify problems, and if needed, perform analysis to identify root cause of any performance issues and take appropriate corrective action to resolve issues.
- Develop scripts to automate manual tasks.
- Work with application owners and infrastructure team members (network, storage, IA, etc.) to optimize system performance.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of system lifecycle documentation.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Clearance: Minimum SECRET clearance. Will require a T5 (if they do not have a TS) from the Government after they start.
- Required Certifications:
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II – CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent at date of hire.
- Operating System (OS) training within 30 days after start date.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 6 years of industry IT experience or Technical Training in relevant enterprise hosting technology areas and 10 years hands on DoD industry IT Experience.
- 5+ years of network experience working in data center or enterprise environments is desired.
- 2+ years of experience with F5 platforms is required.
- Experience with F5 and creation of application specific iRules is required.
- Experience in managing SSL certificates is required.
- Strong log analysis and troubleshooting skills are required.
- Experience with network monitoring/management platforms.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a multi-functional team environment (team player) is required.
- Compliance with current government cybersecurity workforce requirements (current relevant network and security certifications) is required.
- Additional network related certifications are desired.
- Additional security related certifications are desired.
- Experience with DoD security requirements is desired.
- Experience with network management and monitoring tools.
- Exposure to and familiarity with data center design including systems, storage and networking.
- A strong sense of urgency including self-governance on task priority.
