We are seeking a results-oriented Business Development Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities within the rail industry. You will leverage your industry knowledge, strong networking skills, and exceptional communication abilities to build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Identify and pursue new business opportunities: Conduct market research, identify target clients (railroads, shippers, logistics providers), and develop targeted sales strategies.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships: Cultivate and nurture relationships with existing and potential clients through regular communication, industry events, and client visits.
- Develop and present compelling proposals: Prepare and deliver professional proposals and presentations that effectively communicate the value proposition of our products/services.
- Negotiate and close deals: Lead negotiations with clients, address concerns, and successfully close deals that meet revenue targets.
- Stay abreast of industry trends: Monitor industry developments, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to identify new opportunities and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
- Represent the company at industry events: Attend conferences, trade shows, and networking events to increase brand visibility and generate leads.
- Collaborate with internal teams: Work closely with sales, marketing, operations, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives.
- Track and report on sales performance: Monitor key metrics, analyze sales data, and prepare regular reports on sales activity and progress towards goals.



Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field.
- 5 years of proven experience in business development or sales within the rail industry.
- Strong understanding of the rail industry, including key players, market dynamics, and operational challenges.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Proficient in CRM software and other sales tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to 1 travel as needed.
