We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cost Accounting Manager to join our team. The Cost Accounting Manager will ensure the accurate and timely implementation of cost accounting procedures to determine product costs, and the activities involved in manufacturing. Additionally, this position involves leading the Cost Accounting team.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Education/Experience/Certifications:
- Must have a bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university. Proof of degree required (transcript or diploma).
- Must have a minimum of six years of accounting experience at a professional level job such as accountant, auditor, or staff assistant.
- Must have a strong understanding of accounting principles, terminology, and practices used in recording, classifying, and analyzing data related to manufacturing and related activities.
- Preferred Qualification - Attainment of a post graduate degree in business or accounting from an accredited college or university, or satisfactory completion of the requirements to obtain the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation. Proof of degree required (transcript or diploma).
- Preferred Qualification - Prior experience with Hubble (JDE reporting writing application), AS400, Oracle (EPM software) and/or PowerBI software.
- Preferred Qualification - Experience in supervising employees working in the accounting field.

Skills & Abilities:

- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to guide and coordinate work activities.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with attention to detail and professionalism.
- Proficiency in using electronic spreadsheets and performing accurate mathematical calculations.
- Ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, and implement effective actions.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain confidentiality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Cost Accounting Manager will oversee the activities of the Cost Accounting team to ensure accurate cost reporting and adherence to established cost methods. This includes managing the integration of new products or procedures into the cost system and ensuring that cost reports are distributed to various levels of management in a timely manner.

Additionally, the Cost Accounting Manager will manage the inventory records and audits, ensuring the accurate calculation of monthly costs and proper documentation of costs for products and services. This role also involves assisting with the monthly financial closing process, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and ensuring continuous improvement in the department's processes.

The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for reviewing and approving journal entries, overseeing the accuracy of material and production variances, and ensuring compliance with corporate procedures and financial accounting standards. This role also includes preparing reports for management, managing the fixed assets and property tax filings, and supporting the department's professional development and training efforts.

In addition, the Cost Accounting Manager will lead the monthly closing process, review trends in product costs, and assist in reporting discrepancies to ensure accurate financial data is available for timely decision-making. The manager will also monitor and recommend changes to enhance and improve current systems and workflows.
