DESCRIPTION:
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Work with Corporate Risk Manager/General Counsel (US Group) for renewals and audits for the various insurance programs;
- Assist with contract reviews with respect to insurance and certain legal terms;
- Assist Project Teams with COI and endorsement procurement from Subcontractors and Vendors:
- Assist with claim/dispute support, including without limitation discovery production, legal drafting, legal research, and data/cost aggregation for adjusters;
- Work with outside legal counsel relating to claims and disputes, as applicable;
- Work with outside insurance Broker teams for risk management issues;
- Collaborate with project teams and corporate personnel on legal and risk issues;
- Use customary software such as MS Office, invoice software, and various virtual meeting platforms;
- Organize and maintain insurance and legal-matter files and databases, including claim files and contract databases.
- This person will engage regularly with corporate and operational teams on insurance and legal issues.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Insurance experienced preferred; construction experience a plus;
- Detail-oriented, analytical, creative, problem-solving, persuasive, and organized;
- 3+ years of relevant/related experience in insurance or legal fields;
- Ability to adapt to systems and processes within a multi-industry environment;
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with co-workers of different levels;
- High level of integrity and capable of collaborating with groups;
- Capable and competent writing skills and proficient with customary technologies;
- Demonstrated leadership skills;
- Team player able to work well within a dynamic environment.

Other Information:

- Will report to Corporate Risk Manager/General Counsel (US Group);
- This position will be located in Birmingham Headquarters building (820 Shades Creek Parkway);
- Minimal travel required;
- Salary position with an expected 40-hour work week and full-time benefits.
